Vernon Salvation Army Says Thanks

RhinoKore is proud to be a member of the North Okanagan business community and as such, is honored to be able to financially support the community in which they live, work and play.

“In November, as a company, we presented a cheque to the Salvation Army”, stated Serg Trinca – Vice President, RhinoKore. “We’re pleased to see how the community has again rallied to support this worthy cause. The impact, locally, from this campaign is very impressive.”

  • 52 families were sponsored through Sponsor a Family
  • Just under 500 Christmas Hampers were distributed - Which included a Save On Foods gift card and toys for children
  • $426,286 was raised to date for the Christmas Campaign through kettles, mail outs, and other donations
  • About 150 gifts were given to shut-ins at local long term care facilities and the hospital

Spokesman Lieutenant Stefan Reid says they wrapped up a debrief of the annual campaign and agreed to approach different food stores to take part in the gift card program.

There are a few other areas to tweak.

“Expanding hamper times, so instead of just doing three days of interviews, if we did a week of interviews. Then night time ones as well for people who work during the day and are unable to get out.”
